Οn Wednesday, September 28 ΙΕΝΕ will be organising a one-day intensive workshop (click here) in order to examine the role of electricity storage and grid management for maximum penetration of renewable energy into the system. The workshop is organized under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE).
Dr. Stelios Loumakis, President of SPEF, was invited and participate as one of the key contributors and speakers of this timely event. Speakers and workshop participants will come from a number of European countries, from the USA and from Greece. The workshop, which will be conducted at experts’ level and will be backed by a group of specialized companies and industry associations. The workshop programme is under preparation and will be send to you in due course.
As worldwide, and European, interest in particular is growing daily for greater use of RES for power generation so is the need for electricity storage and for expert management at grid and system level. Greece is a typical case in point with the mainland interconnected system and the islands’ autonomous systems.
